Privacy policy
Base is designed so your chats stay on your phone. Offline Base LLC does not collect your prompts, responses, chat history, speech audio, photos, or selected file contents. The only time Base sends something to us is when you turn on Web Search for a message.

What Base handles on your phone
Chats and AI responses
Your prompts and the model's responses are processed on your phone. Chat history stays in Base's private app storage unless you delete it or delete the app.
Voice input and read aloud
If you choose voice input, Base uses on-device speech recognition: Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition required on iPhone, and Android's on-device speech recognizer on Android. Base does not upload or keep a microphone recording. Read aloud uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech.
Photos
Base opens only photos you take with the camera or choose in the photo picker. Images are resized and analyzed on your phone and saved with the local chat. Base does not upload them to Offline Base LLC.
Text and PDF attachments
Base reads only files you select. It extracts text on your phone and may save that extracted text with the local chat. Base does not upload the original file or its contents to Offline Base LLC.
Diagnostics
Model, device, operating-system, storage, and performance details shown in Diagnostics are calculated on your phone and are not sent to Offline Base LLC.
Response reports
On Android, if you use Report this response, the report is saved on your phone with the reported answer. It is not sent to Offline Base LLC unless you choose to share it with us.
One model download, then offline chat
During first setup, Base connects to Hugging Face to download the verified Liquid LFM2.5 model files. Hugging Face may receive the ordinary network information needed to serve that download, such as your IP address and request metadata.
Offline Base LLC does not receive your chats through that download. After the model is installed, generating responses does not require an internet connection.
What is sent when you turn on Web
Web Search is off unless you turn it on for a message. If you never use it, none of the following happens.
Your search query
When you turn on Web for a message, that message's search query is sent to Offline Base LLC's Web Search service, which passes it to our search provider (currently Exa) to find sources. The rest of your chat is not sent. The answer is still written on your phone.
A device credential
The first time you use Web Search, Base creates a random credential on your phone and registers it with our service. We store only a one-way hash of it, an anonymous installation ID, and a search usage count so we can apply fair-use limits and top-up codes.
App and device checks
To confirm requests come from a genuine copy of Base, registration uses Apple App Attest on iPhone and Google Play Integrity on Android. Apple or Google evaluate your app and device, and we store the result they return, such as whether the app and device passed and the app version. We do not receive your Apple Account or Google Account.
Operational logs
Our service runs on Google Cloud. Its request logs record the time, status code, result count, anonymous installation ID, your IP address, and your device's user agent, never the text of your query. We use them to operate the service and prevent abuse, and they are kept for 30 days. Rate-limit records keep only a keyed hash of your IP address.
What we do not do
Base has no account system, advertising SDK, or analytics SDK. It does not track you across apps or websites. Offline Base LLC does not sell your data or share it for advertising. Web Search queries are shared with our search provider only to return results.
Camera, photo, microphone, and speech permissions are requested only when you use the feature that needs them. Files are opened only after you select them in the system file picker.
Base is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Storage, deletion, and contact
Chats, photos, extracted attachment text, reports, and model files remain in Base's private app storage. Deleting a chat removes its local record. Deleting Base removes its local app data from the phone.
