Support
Base requires iOS 17 or later. The current model has been confirmed on an iPhone 12 Pro Max; newer compatible iPhones should generally run it faster, while performance varies by device.
Common questions
First model download
Base downloads about 664 MB once. Keep the app open and your iPhone online until setup finishes. If it stops, confirm you have free storage, reconnect to the internet, and tap Retry.
Offline use
Once the model is ready, chats run on your iPhone without internet. The Diagnostics screen will show Ready offline when the local model is available.
Voice input
Allow both Microphone and Speech Recognition when asked. Base requires an on-device speech recognizer for your selected language; if one is unavailable, type your message instead.
Text and PDF files
You can attach up to three files per message. Each file must be under 15 MB. Password-protected, scanned, and image-only PDFs are not supported because Base does not include OCR.
Slow or interrupted answers
Generation speed depends on the iPhone and prompt length. Keep Base in the foreground while it answers. If needed, stop the response and try a shorter prompt or a new chat.
Model accuracy
Base uses a compact local model. Responses can be inaccurate, so verify important medical, legal, financial, or safety information independently.
